One of the most researched tenants of yoga, consistent meditation and mindfulness-based practices have been shown to support our overall mental health and emotional wellbeing. To make these practices more accessible for your daily routine, we have made some of our own meditations available to download below at no cost to you. We have also included some links to our other favorite—and free!—meditation resources.

Yoga Nidra Meditation

Yoga Nidra, sometimes referred to as “Yogic Sleep”, is an ancient practice that was developed by the early yogis to help shift our awareness from the external world to the internal through guided meditation.

In addition to activating our Parasympathetic Nervous System (“Rest and Digest”), Yoga Nidra helps to promote wellness through bringing our awareness to each individual body part with intention and healing. This practice was originally developed to help in the recovery of combat veterans and individuals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Interoceptive Meditation

This interoceptive meditation is part of the Eat Breathe Thrive™ curriculum and focuses on increasing our internal awareness of bodily sensations, our reactions to those sensations, and what needs those sensations might be pointing to.

This meditation takes awareness a step further to help the listener identify what actions they can take, in the next few moments or hours, to address the needs showing up in their body.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation

This Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) meditation was developed to help release anxiety trapped as residual tension in the body. PMR achieves this by guiding you through activating each section of the body with awareness and then releasing the tension to allow for complete softness and relaxation.

During this meditation, you are invited to tense each muscle with awareness, but not to the point of strain. Additionally, if there are any areas in which you are experiencing pain or have a history of injury, you are invited to skip these affected areas.
