Our Services.

At The Yogi OT™ , are committed to assisting all individuals to develop the skills and tools they need to succeed in mental health recovery through trauma-informed therapeutic yoga and mindfulness practices. It is through these practices that we hope to cultivate positive embodiment, interoceptive awareness, and mental health recovery.

We also utilize a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) approach and work to promote health equity, end weight discrimination, and improve access to quality therapeutic yoga practices regardless of body shape or size.

Individual Sessions

We offer both virtual and in-person 1:1 sessions where we will work with you to develop a yoga program that is unique to your mental health goals and recovery. Typical individual sessions include a combination of mindfulness, joyful movement, occupational therapy, and somatic coaching practices.

Somatic Coaching

Somatic coaching is an approach that utilizes the body’s intelligence to support physical and mental wellness. This is done through a combination of practices that promote interoceptive awareness (our awareness of what’s going on “inside” our body) and embodied wisdom (identifying what the body is communicating and responding mindfully).

Group Sessions

We offer both virtual and in-person group sessions to assist individuals in creating a supportive community network. Our group sessions aim to address specific recovery-focused goals, tools, and supports. To learn more about our available groups, please visit our events page.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness practices are central to the services we provide at The Yogi OT™ . Mindfulness has been shown to be an effective strategy for helping to reduce mental health symptoms and improve our relationship with our mind, body, and spirit. Never done mindfulness before? Don’t worry! We will work with you to develop a practice that feels honoring to your recovery.

"Alyssa offers a calm and soothing environment to feel safe in. When I started working with her, all my emotions came flooding into our space. She is kind and gentle in her approach... she helped me to feel comfortable and know it was okay to be me. I appreciated every session with her as she is unwavering in her abilities and experience, which was exactly what I needed to heal, grow and get strong again."

— Stacie M., Former individual participant

Services provided at The Yogi OT™ are not meant to replace consistent mental health counseling. Yoga is a powerful supplement to recovery when used with a mental health care team. Consistent counseling is deeply encouraged throughout every stage of recovery.
